Writing for Pleasure: UKS2 edition is a workshop built around creating teachers who care about the soul of writing, a workshop designed to unlock the potential of every little writer that we come across, and a workshop for collaboration – school-to-school – getting real life feedback from the chalkface. The components for the workshop are: • Why write? The motivations of the writing-teacher and the writer. (Session 1) • The power of vocabulary and imagery. (Session 1) • How to plan a narrative unit from the outcome outwards. (Session 1) • Where next? How to assess, respond and then plan sequential units of writing to allow for mastery. (Session 2) • Assessment support – through a shared book-look, recapping and evaluating each school’s experiences. Understanding the curriculum and the KS2 DfE framework.
