Celebrating Success
We are delighted that once again to offer our KS2 School swimming program.
We fully support the Education Departments decision to include the lifesaving skills of Safe self-rescue within the KS2 Swimming syllabus. By doing so, we are committed to ensuring all pupils have the opportunity to learn
Safe self-rescue.
Learning to swim is important to all pupils as part of an active and healthy lifestyle. Participation in school swimming contributes to the target of quality PE time each week for every child. Swimming is one of the eight strands of national PE School Sport

The Choice
Whilst the importance of swimming has indeed been recognised in that it remains a statutory part of the P.E.
Curriculum, it is still a concern that not all children reach the Key Stage 2 target. The abundance of open water in and around Bradford makes it even more important that children are aware of the potential dangers of water and are able to swim well enough
for their own personal safety.
It is clearly very important that each school makes the correct choice as to who should deliver KS2 swimming lessons to their pupils.
We fully support the Education Departments decision to include the lifesaving skills of Safe self-rescue within the KS2 Swimming syllabus.
