What is Living Well Schools?
Living Well Schools is the healthy schools programme for Bradford, supporting schools to become health-promoting environments by removing health-related barriers to education. It provides the foundation for pupils to grow, learn and become healthy, educated
and engaged citizens.
Living Well Schools was born from the need to streamline the integration of health and wellbeing resources into schools, addressing common challenges many school leaders face when prioritising and navigating the myriad of health and wellbeing offers available.
How do we support schools?
Living Well Schools has a team of dedicated School Leads who work directly with senior leaders to implement a whole school approach to health and wellbeing.
Using a bespoke profiling tool and quality-assured support directory, comprising of
independently-led resources and
facilitated providers, Living Well Schools makes it easier for schools to incorporate accurate, evidence-based health messaging and support. The process is flexible to meet
the individual needs of schools and covers four key priority areas: physical activity, Eating Well, emotional wellbeing, and poverty.
To ensure the opinions and priorities of children and young people are included throughout process, a pupil voice strand with additional resources is incorporated into the support offer.
