We will be doing maintenance to our website systems on Sunday, 31 January. Despite the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it is essential that we maintain the security of our systems. This will help us continue to deliver vital public health messages and information about council services via our website and allow you all to access our services using online forms. The work should be done with little disruption to you and any interruption should be short. If you do have problems accessing the site or something doesn’t work on Sunday, please try again later.
The HLTA course consists of three non-consecutive sessions. A further Assessment fee is payable to Carnegie Leaders of Learning for the costs of the independent assessment on behalf of HLTA North. Passing the assessment after the course leads to the award of the HLTA status which is nationally recognised.. The assessment consists of written assignments and interviews and the course dates are spaced out to allow work to be completed between the sessions.
Prior to attendance at a course applicants must have a GCSE Grade C/ level 4 in English and Maths or level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy and be in possession of the original certificates. If an applicant does not have this qualification, or cannot prove it, then there is now the opportunity to sit tests for both Literacy and Numeracy that will give the right to access the course. Please note that this will not give a valid level 2 qualification for any other purpose.
Below are the two forms (Application form and Diagnostic form) required to apply for the HLTA course. Also below is a copy of the information pack that will help you with your application. Please ensure you have the Headteachers' agreement and that you have a Level 2 or higher qualification in Maths and English (see information pack for more details), have your original certificates and proof of any change of name, e.g., marriage certificate, since you passed the qualification.
Drinks are provided but candidates will need to purchase lunch from the trolley service or bring it with them.
For further information on the next course or any enquiries on the HLTA course or application process please email school.governor@bradford.gov.uk as members of this team are dealing with the course and course queries.
All applications for this courses should be emailed to school.governor@bradford.gov.uk
