Careers and Technical Education Partnership

Careers and Technical Education Partnership

In today's rapidly evolving job market, and an ear defined by rapid technological advances and shifting economic landscapes. The importance of a robust Careers and Technical Education (CTE) system approach cannot be overstated.

As we strive for a collective approach in how we equip our learners for success, our CTE framework and services are designed in partnership to ensure that we harness the insights and expertise of local employers. This partnership collaborative model not only informs our curriculum but also aligns educational outcomes with the essential and technical skills that employers seek, creating a seamless transition from education to employment.

Inclusivity is at the heart of our CTE approach. We know that every learner is unique and that diverse pathways are essential for fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment. By actively engaging with vulnerable learners, we ensure that all learners, regardless of their background or circumstances, have access to high-quality career guidance and in demand technical training. Our programs are tailored to meet the needs of all key stages, providing a continuum of support that prepares learners for the challenges of tomorrow's workforce.

Our District governance plays a crucial role in this initiative, enabling us to implement strategic oversight and ensure that our CTE offerings are responsive to both local and regional labour market demands.

Our governance structure is strategically organised around 15 sectors, supported by 9 dedicated sector boards. This district governance model allows for targeted oversight and alignment of our CTE initiatives with local employment trends and community needs. Each sector board plays a vital role in guiding curriculum development, ensuring that our offerings remain relevant and responsive to the evolving job market.

By working closely with partners, stakeholders, including educators, employers, learning providers, and community organisations, we cultivate an ecosystem that supports the development of essential skills and technical competencies.

Ultimately, our Careers and Technical Education approach and services are about empowering all learners to thrive in an ever-changing world. Through strategic partnerships, an inclusive mindset, and a commitment to supporting vulnerable populations, we are dedicated to creating Core Careers and Sector based pathways that lead to meaningful employment and lifelong success for all our young people.

Bradford CTE Career Services Framework:

Bradford District’s Career Services (CS) Framework sets out a delivery system centred around the needs of children and young people.

The framework is designed to start in early childhood and inform our approach through to early adulthood, enabling young people to make successful transitions throughout each educational phase and ultimately to secure and sustain work. It serves as a guide for all practitioners and stakeholders involved in developing and progressing strategies and approaches for careers and transition services.

The framework is a model for organisations including schools, community service providers, government agencies, and employers, to meet the needs of the children and young people they work with.

It is recognised that some of the elements of the framework are already being implemented, while others are the subject of continuing exploration and implementation.
