Bradford Learning Network

The Bradford Learning Network is Bradford Council's provider of education focused internet for education establishments.

The core values of the BLN are:

• to provide a service that helps meet the needs of safeguarding pupils on the internet
• effectively support head teachers to meet their responsibilities regarding the management of data security and risk
• provide equity of access for learners across the Bradford district
• offer value for money

In securing the service with Virgin Media, the BLN has done this and more. To compliment this technology Virgin provide centrally managed firewalls to give an extra level of protection and Smoothwall provide individual firewalls and internet filtering rather than filtering being managed centrally. This technology provides for greater internet and data security on top of state of the art services and complies with all DfE recommendations for your internet provision.
