Adventure Development
Adventure Development is a Bradford Council service providing high‑quality outdoor and adventurous experiences across the Bradford district and beyond.
Our team delivers both centre‑based and outreach programmes. With full accreditation from the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority, the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, and AdventureMark, we take pride in maintaining high standards of operational
and safety management. Our experienced staff can tailor programmes to meet your educational and enrichment needs.
Doe Park Water Activities Centre
Our fantastic facility at Doe Park in Denholme provides the perfect base for a wide range of educational programmes.
On the water, we offer kayaking, canoeing, raft building, paddleboarding, sailing, and dragon boating. Our impressive high ropes course adds even more adventure, with high‑level activities including climbing, abseiling, team challenges, and an aerial obstacle
course.
We also deliver engaging land‑based activities, such as archery, problem‑solving challenges, and bushcraft sessions.
Adventure Hub
Based at Baildon Recreation Centre, we make the most of being just a stone’s throw from Shipley Glen, with its fantastic network of bike trails suitable for both novice riders and those seeking greater adventure. The surrounding area also offers excellent
opportunities for climbing, abseiling, archery, local walks, and bushcraft activities.
Adventure Outreach
A major part of our outdoor provision is delivered through our outreach programmes. We have a fully mobile team of instructors who run activities on school sites, in local parks, and across open countryside. Our mobile climbing tower can be set up on school
grounds for events and galas, and we offer kayaking on local canals, climbing at Cow and Calf Rocks, and hill walking throughout the Bradford and Calder valleys. We also deliver activities further afield, including kayaking, mountain biking, walking, caving,
and gorge scrambling in the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.
