Discover more about space, astronomy and Bradford's 'Astounding Astronomer' Abraham Sharp in an event that will be out of this world! You can find out more about Sharp by visiting his memorial plaque in the Cathedral to hear more about his work and his discoveries and see his calculation of Pi laid out on the Cathedral floor.

There will also be a talk from Rod Hine of the Bradford Astronomical Society all about space, and lots of space-themed craft activities to take part in. You'll also be able to travel from the Sun to Pluto by visiting our inflatable solar system - and you can even take a selfie at Saturn or go on your own mission to Mars!

And for those who are big fans of the movies, there will be a 30-minute musical spectacular with themes from space and science-fiction films played on our organ. There will also be some intergalactic refreshments on offer, and a chance to go on a short tour of the Cathedral, or to wander around at your own pace, taking in some of the other historical sights.

it's day to tell stories and bring to life the variety, beauty, history and sheer wonder of Yorkshire’s churches, chapels and places of worship. The aim of the day is to encourage everyone to visit their local church even if they have never stepped foot inside a church before.
