We are pleased to be able to offer schools within the Bradford District up to £500 of grant based funding to support you in purchasing practical music making teaching resources to help you in your delivery of your music curriculum

Hello

We are pleased to be able to offer schools within the Bradford District up to £500 of grant based funding to support you in purchasing practical music making teaching resources to help you in your delivery of your music curriculum.  This offer is open to LA schools, free schools and academies within Bradford MDC.

To claim, you need to order and pay for resources that fall into the categories listed below and submit a copy of your invoices to Debbie.bellwood@bradford.gov.uk no later than Friday 10th February 2023 along with evidence of your Music Development Plan* and we will arrange reimbursement UP TO £500 per school via the Council School Payment System in March 2023.

  • As required by all schools by the National Plan for Music Education: The Power of Music To Change Lives 2022.

Individual schools are responsible for ordering and purchasing of their own equipment and submitting copies of invoices and evidence of Development Plan  for reimbursement by the given deadline.  Any received after this date will not be paid.

Where schools work in partnership (e.g. MAT’s), you are welcome to benefit from scale of economy and share resources.  If this is the case, then the submitting school must detail which portion of the invoice/s relates to which school totally up to £500 per school.

The funding will cover:

Primary Settings

  • Tuned classroom instruments (e.g. chime bars/glocks/boomwhackers/etc…)
  • Untuned instruments (e.g. tambourines/wood blocks/claves/etc..)

Secondary Settings

  • Tuned instruments (e.g. as above/guitars/bass/etc)
  • Electronic equipment to support KS4 provision  (e.g. mics/cables/etc)

SEND Settings

  • Any of the above
  • Specialist musical equipment that supports practical music making in your setting

Through Schools

  • Eligible to access a grant for both settings (e.g. submit a primary AND secondary request)

Please consider how your chosen equipment will positively impact the delivery of music across your whole school curriculum.

The funding will not cover:

  • Digital learning resources such as Sing Up, Sparkyard or Charanga as subsidies are already in place for this
  • Books, sheet music, schemes of work or other non-practical teaching resources
  • Anything else not covered by the breakdown above.

Please note that due to the anticipated volume of equipment to be ordered, we advise that schools research suppliers via the internet/use your own preferred suppliers wherever possible as we are unable to advise in this instance.

If you have any questions, please contact schoolsmusicandarts@bradford.gov.uk.
