Schools with a BLN contract have access to free termly Online Safety seminar update sessions delivered remotely via Microsoft Teams. A number of sessions are being delivered in October by Paul Scott and Tim Bleazard, Innovation Services.

Intro to the 360 degree safe self-review tool (5 Oct or 18 Oct 15:45-16:30)

This introduction to the 360-degree safe Online Safety tool and the Online Safety Mark provides an overview of the tool and how to complete a school audit. We will provide details of a range of free sessions available to support BLN school's achieving this available.

The tool covers the following four elements:

  • Policy and Leadership
  • Education
  • Technology
  • Outcomes

Intro to Project Evolve (10 Oct or 12 Oct 15:45-16:30)

This session provides an introduction and a walk through of the online safety/digital literacy resources available to download directly from the Project Evolve website. Discussion around the best way to navigate these resources and plan sessions for your class as part of a planned online safety/digital literacy curriculum or to address any online safety issues arising in school.

The outcomes include

  • Understand the need for a cohesive and progressive online safety/digital literacy curriculum
  • Understand how to access and utilise the Project Evolve resources to meet your school needs
  • Utilise resources from project Evolve to help design or review your school’s online safety/digital literacy curriculum
