Early Career Teachers - registrations

If you are using Bradford Council as the Appropriate Body for ECT induction, could we please urge you to get all of your new ECTs registered on ECT Manager by the end of this week.

Remember that if they are joining you having completed one year, they are still two-year ECTs even though they only have one year left to do.

Also, don't forget to let the DfE know you have appointed an ECT by logging on to their Manage Training for Early Career Teachers portal and registering them there too - the two systems don't link, so you have to duplicate the registrations unfortunately.

A number of schools have registered already but the registrations are showing up as errors on the system. This means that either the Teacher Reference Number or the date of birth has been added incorrectly. We are finding that often this error lies in the initial recording of the details on the school's own system. Please check the details with the ECTs themselves - particularly with regards their date of birth.

If everything is definitely correct at your end then please call Michael Garside 07582 109303 as he needs to advise you what to do.

Please check all of your registered ETCs on the system - even if you think they're all ok. If there is a problem it will show in a large red box on the ECT's overview page. It's very important we get the registrations in the system over the next couple of days.

Finally there are still some forms which are very overdue from last term. Would schools please ensure that these are signed off by Friday 9th without fail. Statutory Guidance states they should be submitted 10 working days after the end of the term and we are well beyond that time now.
