This programme is available, free of charge, to all primary and
secondary schools across the Craven District and is overseen by qualified mental health staff. The aim of the programme is to form a network of School Co-ordinators, who would work with us to improve the mental health of Young
People across our district; recruiting, training, and mentoring older year groups who, in turn, would mentor those younger than themselves. The ambition is to break down the stigma of mental health by establishing champions (peer mentors) within each School,
overseen by trained staff.
In return, the Brathay team supports you, the school co-ordinator, by providing the initial training and also a step-by-step guide to setting up a Peer Mentoring Program in your school. You will also be provided with a comprehensive resource pack and ongoing
support from Brathay staff…all completely FREE OF CHARGE! The take up has been fantastic and feedback highlights that the delivery method and ongoing support is a very useful tool for those already enrolled.
We are now accepting expressions of interest and spaces are limited, so places will be offered on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions, or if you would like to reserve your place on this exciting programme, please contact Amy Charlton
on 07776766953, or by emailing, counselling@brathay.org.uk.
We look forward to hearing from you soon and wish you all the best for the remainder of your academic year.
