- Be from a Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic background
- Have an interest in Information Technology

Your schools and teachers know you best so we will be asking them in September to invite students with an interest in IT to take part in the competition.

What is the Diverse IT competition?
So we’re running a competition that will highlight some of the exciting opportunities in IT, across Network Rail and the rail industry.
Data tells us that people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds aren’t equally represented in IT and at Network Rail we’d like to change that.
What are the prizes?
Prizes include IT equipment including brand new Windows 10 laptops, work experience days and mentoring and coaching from IT professionals.
Winners will be divided into 2 categories based on age and prizes will be awarded accordingly.
One overall winner will be invited to apply with a recommendation for our Network Rail IT Apprenticeship scheme. We are unable to guarantee your place on the scheme but you will receive support from a mentor throughout the application process.
