Bradford Council is inviting schools to apply for small grants to deliver holiday clubs for free school meal children over the Christmas holidays.

The council has received additional funding from the Department for Education to support the delivery of Bradford’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) provision for free school meal children this Christmas and is offering schools the opportunity to take part.

Small grants up to the value of £5,000 are on offer to deliver a minimum of one week, up to a maximum of two weeks', HAF activity over the Christmas holidays.

Schools will need to deliver:

  • Enriching and physical activities for four hours per day,
  • Hot meals for children attending activities,
  • One family activity session per week and signposting for families in need of further help.

Any school interested in getting involved is asked to email HAFGrant@bradford.gov.uk to express their interest. They will then receive the DfE guidance and a short application form to complete.
