Salix Finance Funding for Maintained Schools

 

Salix offer 100% interest free capital for school energy efficiency projects.

In partnership with the Department of Education, Salix Finance provides funding to reduce energy bills through the installation of energy efficiency technologies. The funding is provided through an interest free loan, which is repaid using the saving from the school’s energy bills.

What can Salix be used for ?

 

Salix can be used on energy efficiency projects such as:

  • Boilers
  • Building Management Systems
  •  Computers and IT Solutions
  • Heating Solutions, Ventilation and Cooling
  • Hand Dryers
  • Hot water Solutions
  • Insulation
  • Laboratory Upgrade
  • LED, lighting, Lighting controls and upgrades
  • Swimming Pool Covers
  • Voltage Management

Energy Heroes

Energy Heroes provide teachers with high quality resources that enable pupils to achieve high standards for data handling and problem solving skills. There objectives are to;

  • Deliver a highly engaging, reusable programme, that enables schools to act as knowledge hubs for Energy and Climate Change
  • Provide schools and their communities with a range of activities and resources that empower them to make good choices in relation to energy conservation and low carbon living
  • Empower children to become messengers who describe and model behaviours that reduce CO2 emissions and reduce fuel poverty

Less C02

 

The LESS CO2 sustainable schools programme is a free energy efficiency programme available to any UK school, regardless if you are council run, an academy or independent.

Through a series of half day workshops spread through the year, peer mentoring, expert advice and resources, staff are empowered and equipped to make changes and improvements to their school to reduce their energy usage, save money on bills and lower their CO2 emissions.
