Education Partnerships Team

Education Partnerships Team

What do we do?

The function of the Education Partnerships Team is to work in partnership with the community and education providers, to improve the education and lives of children and young people. We will do this by involving businesses, training providers, community organisations and individuals, to offer free provision and resources to better support children and young people.

What do we offer?

The work of the team is based on four Pillars of Success and described as ‘SELF’:

  • Skills – To offer fun and practical activities, to ensure individuals can develop a wide range of skills, including social skills, effective communication and resilience, and understand the importance of them.
  • Exceed – To ensure that children and young people can feel proud to live in Bradford. We offer activities that will support their hopes and dreams, enabling them to have broad ambitions, with real and achievable life goals.
  • Learning – To support individuals to understand the value of their learning experiences and to have the ability to drive their own futures. Through interactive and engaging activities, children and young people will be able to accrue their ‘educational currency’. We will support them to be healthy, physically, mentally and emotionally, with a high level of resilience and self-reflection.
  • Families – To support families by offering opportunities that help them to engage with the education of their children. Empowering them to feel confident and valued as an integral part of the educational journey, we will promote the value of education and support, no matter what their circumstances or backgrounds. Equal access to education for all, will be a guiding principle when working with and supporting families.

How does working with the Education Partnerships Team benefit your organisation?

Whether you are a business, community organisation or training provider, there are a number of benefits to building a long term partnership with the Education Partnerships Team.

With Bradford District being the youngest city in Europe, there is potential for a great future ahead and businesses see our young people as the future skillset. With this in mind, engagement with children and young people across the district is vital to for future workforce development. Our young people must be looked after and supported in a way that develops their ambitions and gives them opportunities to succeed.

Businesses, in particular, have a need to fulfil their Corporate Social Responsibility, the framework of sustainability plans. They have a vested interest in improving their community and the environment. By working with education providers, organisations are directly supporting young people, which, in turn, will support their educational outcomes and lives. Organisations will reinforce the right behaviour and attitudes to learning, which will leave a lasting positive image on the business. In turn, businesses will attract young people, future employees and individuals with a shared value.
