We will be doing maintenance to our website systems on Sunday, 31 January. Despite the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it is essential that we maintain the security of our systems. This will help us continue to deliver vital public health messages and information about council services via our website and allow you all to access our services using online forms. The work should be done with little disruption to you and any interruption should be short. If you do have problems accessing the site or something doesn’t work on Sunday, please try again later.
Thank you to those schools who have responded to the email sent last week. For those schools still to decide on the best option, please get in touch as soon as possible so that provision can be in place for after half term.
FOR THE ATTENTION OF ALL PRIMARY SCHOOLS: WHOLE CLASS INSTRUMENTAL PROVISION
Thank you to those schools who have responded. For those schools still to decide on the best option, please get in touch as soon as possible so that provision can be in place for after half term. Reminder information below: Dear Headteacher/Music Co-ordinator We are currently delivering to many schools across the district face to face or online and would like to encourage your school to do the same to ensure your pupils have the same opportunities. Face to Face – your instrumental teacher would attend school on the normal day/time – they can undertake their normal lessons with the children in school. This falls within DfE guidelines and we have Risk Assessments in place which can be accessed from our website on https://www.bradfordmusiconline.co.uk/site/schools/covid-19-risk-assessments/ (these are updated regularly following changes in guidance) . We are also following the national guidance on Lateral Flow Testing and have this in place for all of our staff. We appreciate that not all children are in school and we have options for those out of school as well. Face to Face and Online – your instrumental teacher would attend school on normal day/time – they can undertake their normal lessons with the children in school and the same time interact with those at home via your online platforms. Variations on these lessons can also be put in place to accommodate the school/instrument availability. Online only – via your school infrastructure the music teaching staff can provide online lessons on their normal day/time. This can be a variation on what normally happens in school depending on age/range of children and instrument availability. Other options - The music teaching staff are available to your school on their normal days/times. If face to face or online instrumental lessons in their normal format are not suitable for the school at this current time then the teachers can still come into school weekly in their regular slots to assist the school with the keyworker children attending and provide structured musical activities. If none of the above are suitable for the school we can offer pre-recorded weekly musical lessons or resource packs weekly for the school to send out to the pupils. For information we do intend to run our annual Music Education Conference shortly which will focus on music curriculum recovery and getting pupils back in again. If you could advise us of your preferred option so that we can act upon this and advise your music teaching staff appropriately. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information and to discuss your preferred way forward. We will be Telephoning all schools who have not responded to this email to follow up on this over the course of the next few days. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
