Referral for Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessment for Bradford, Airedale and Craven children and young people

The Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or ADHD assessment pathways cover the following age ranges:

  • 0 – 2.5 years: refer to a Child Development Service Paediatrician at Airedale Hospital Foundation Trust (AHFT) or Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust (BTHFT), as it is inappropriate to enter the ASC/ADHD pathway at this age.
  • 2.5 to 7 years: refer to the Child Development Services at AHFT or BTHFT (ASC only)
  • 7 to 18 years: refer to Bradford District Care Foundation Trust (BDCFT) CAMHS service. (ASC and/or ADHD) (see separate referral information)

In view of the high demand for ASC/ADHD assessment service, a waiting list is in operation at each service.  Referrals are triaged, where the submitted information is reviewed and the child added to the waiting list where appropriate.  Incomplete referral information may result in the referral being returned to the referrer, with advice on next steps e.g. referral to community paediatrics or speech and language therapy.

It is important referrals reach the correct department (as described below) and has the requested information completed to avoid any delay in addition of the child or young person to the waiting list where appropriate.
