Key Stage 5 and Key Stage 4 Results Collections - Summer 2020 *Reminder*

To be completed by:

Time: - | Venue:

A local collection of provisional A Level and GCSE results will be taking place this year. This is a reminder that the collections are imminent and will need fast action from yourselves on the day.

The DfE published on the 8th April 2020 their position on Primary and Secondary accountability in the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  Schools and colleges will not be held to account on the basis of exams and assessment data from summer 2020 and that data will not be used by others, such as Ofsted and local authorities, to hold schools and colleges to account.

>head teachers have been informed via the weekly email communication from our Deputy Director, Marium Haque, and all Data Managers / Data Leads / colleagues who have previously been involved in these collections have been contacted directly.

It is understood that the results information provided by schools and colleges in August will be provisional at that time as there will still be appeals waiting for final decisions.

Please note that we will be following the methodology used in the 2019 DfE performance tables, therefore we will be collecting first entry only.

Access to the online forms this year is via the Results Collection Dashboard on BSO. Users require a BSO login to be able to complete the results forms. Guidance is available on how to obtain a login if you don’t already have one. Once logged in, the results collection dashboard can be found under the ‘Utilities’ section in the centre of the screen.

We would like you to return your data between 9.30 and 10.30am on Thursday 13th August 2020 for KS5 and Thursday 20th August 2020 for KS4. This submission window is in line with the June 2020 regulations published by the JCQ, including when a school (centre) can release results data to the Local Authority.

When returning KS4 results please ensure that you use the 2019 point scores for unreformed GCSEs (see table below – ‘Secondary Accountability Measures’ February 2020).

Point scores for other qualifications can be found in Annex A of the Progress 8 and Attainment 8 guidance via the Key Stage 4 link at the bottom of this article.
