We are looking for classes to help us test out some new workshops at Bradford Museums and Galleries for FREE!
We currently have the following opportunities:
Reception /Year 1
Children will use a wide range of skills whilst finding out more about the art gallery as they take on different job roles including pest control, front of house and conservation. Through play based activity children will sort, add, label, organise, identify
and have fun whilst carrying out their new job!
This workshop will be approximately 1.5 hrs long and take place at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery on 22 June.
Upper KS2 : YR 4/ 5/6
- Significant Bradford : Margaret McMillan
This workshop will allow children to use ipad and green screen technology along with historical enquiry skills and source material to explore life in late Victorian Bradford. It will focus on the significant contribution made by education campaigner Margaret
McMillan whilst working in Bradford to achieving better healthcare and school meals for children. Children will use historic photographs, artwork and role play to produce their own short films.
This workshop will be approximately 2 hrs long and take place at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery on 20th or 21st June.
Upper KS2 or lower KS3
- What it was like to work in a mill in Victorian Bradford
Using drama techniques children will put themselves in the position of both a mill owner and mill worker and use historic source material to work like historians and gain an understanding of what happened in a mill and what life was like for children at
This workshop will be approximately 2 hrs long and take place at Bradford Industrial Museum on 11th or 12th July.
