This is your chance to find out and celebrate what works well in transition to secondary school, to get involved and make a difference to the lives of children and young people in the district. The Public Forum for Education (PFE) is an open forum where
everyone with an interest in education is welcome to come along and contribute.
The PFE independent chair is Jackie Walters, a local chair of governors, National Leader of Governance and a Bradford Leader of Governance. Senior elected members and Council officers, join the debates and listen to views. They report back on what they have
done in response to what you have said.
Speakers will talk about Bradford’s priorities including:-
- What we do well
- What happens if families don’t get their preferred choice of school
Richard Edwards, Headteacher, Farnham Primary School and Nadia Hussain, Extended Services Manager for BD7 will dispel the myths around transition and explain how schools help with pupil wellbeing and how the role of parents and the community
is crucial at this critical time.
Mohammed Azum and Inam Laher (Assistant Headteachers) from Carlton Bolling College along with Year 8 students will talk about their own experiences of transition and participation in the Pixel Edge Citizenship project.
Speakers will also talk about how schools and colleges work together to support the transition to secondary school.
The presentations will be followed by round table discussions and an opportunity to share your ideas with the panel and ask questions.
A flyer is attached which some of you may want to display on your notice boards.
