SafeBase Training

The Virtual School is pleased to offer Bradford secondary schools the opportunity to attend the SafeBase training on 28th September 2017, in MMT. Please note that there is no cost to attend the training and places will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

The Virtual School for Looked After Children has organised for some fantastic FREE training called SafeBase for Schools.

 The Virtual School for Looked After Children will fund this training so it is free to Secondary Schools. 

Thursday 28 September 2017, 9.00am until 12.15pm

The course is aimed at designated teachers, key adults, teachers, learning mentors and SENCO’s.

 

What will the course cover?

• The impact of developmental trauma in the classroom – how early life neglect and abuse shapes brain development and the child’s ability to learn 

• Theraplay® informed practice and its practical application to the classroom. 

Participants will:

• Gain knowledge about early experiences and developmental trauma; 

• Learn about, and experience, Theraplay® techniques; 

• Explore practical strategies to use within their school environment.
