Learning objectives are that by the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Consider definitions of child and adolescent mental health and understand factors which pose a risk including stigma and discrimination
- Understand categories of mental health problems and mental health disorders
- Appreciate the importance of early attachment/patterns including the impact on teenagers
- Explain evidence based resilience building intervention strategies available within their own practice and other multi-agency resources including CAMHS referral
- Identify how they can apply the learning to their own areas of practice
Please note: This course is a pre-requisite gateway course to the specialist courses that comprise the practitioner-led Child and Adolescent Emotional Well-being Support Training Programme. Key themes from this course run through
all the specialist courses. Potential participants who have received mental health training, which features the areas described above, within the last three years or who are working within specialist CAMHS can contact workforce development to discuss direct
