By the end of 2016, Signs of Safety will replace the Common Assessment and will shape the way we make child protection plans with families. This post follows the letter sent to Headteachers and governing bodies in March which outline our transformational
Journey to Excellence programme.
It is imperative that schools take part in this training programme so that they are able to contribute to early help, child protection and looked after children’s reviews.
From Early Help through to how we manage child protection plans, Signs of Safety will bring about more consistency in our work.
Training on Signs of Safety, part of the Journey to Excellence programme, started at the end of April and will run throughout 2016.
We recommend that the person in your school who is best positioned to cascade learning attends the 2-day training. If it is not possible to release this person for 2 days then the 1-day course is recommended.
