An afternoon with Lisa Jane Ashes

To be completed by: Tue 10 May 2016

Time: -Tue 10 May 2016 | Venue:

Exceed TSA is delighted to welcome author Lisa Jane Ashes for the final session of our Inspiration Programme, following previous session with Debra Kidd and Hywel Roberts (18 May). Places are available for £35pp.

Although it was Abraham Lincoln who said that ‘The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present’ Lisa (@lisajaneashes) is happy to take that as one of hers. With an English and Literacy background stretching from Classroom Assistant to Teaching and Learning Leader, Lisa is on a mission to help schools break away from how they’ve traditionally arranged things to embrace a whole new way of looking at the curriculum.  Best embodied in Manglish, her unique approach to combining whole-school literacy and numeracy, Lisa’s work shows how truly creative schools make learning more real and relevant.  In doing so, all children benefit, regardless of background and academic ability.  Lisa has recently contributed to the book, ‘Don’t Change the Light Bulbs’.

The event takes place on 9 June, 13:00-15:45 (refreshments from 12:45) at The Great Victoria Hotel, Bradford.
