Out-of-school settings voluntary safeguarding code of practice consultation

The Department for Education is seeking views on a draft voluntary safeguarding code of practice for supplementary schools, out-of-school settings providers, and associated parental guidance.

The Department for Education is consulting on the development of a draft voluntary safeguarding code of practice for out-of-school settings (OOSS), as well as guidance for parents on key questions they may wish to consider when choosing an out-of-school setting including supplementary schools for their child.

Responses are being sought on proposals relating to:

  • health and safety
  • online and digital safety
  • suitability of staff and volunteers
  • governance
  • finance

The deadline for responses is 24 February 2019.
