WW1 Commemoration Events at Bradford Libraries 30 June to 4 July 2014

Celebrate Children's Book Week with our WW1 commemoration events at Bradford Libraries. We have acclaimed children's poet Roger Stevens and historian Kathryn Hughes along with a "hands on" rug-making session following our hugely successful Poppies competition to design the library reading rug

Roger Stevens will be performing some of his poems from his new and acclaimed book of war poetry for children called What Are We Fighting For.

Kathryn Hughes will be offering a Children in WW1 session which includes a 1914 geography lession, the impact of war on families and the changes to schooling during the war years.

There is also a "hands-on" session on our library reading rug with the West Riding Ruggers; designed by the winners of our Poppies competition, which was hugely supported by Bradford schools.
