Is your school interested in having electric vehicle charge points installed?

The Councils energy team is currently working on potential pilot scheme to install electric vehicle charging points for residents without off street parking.

As many schools are situated in residential areas, we are considering whether school car parks could be used a community charging hubs - particular given the car parks are usually empty overnight, and at weekends and holiday and are often close to residential properties.

We are  in the very early stages of developing a scheme / funding application to the government, however if your school is interested and meets the following criteria, please express an initial interest by emailing eccu@bradford.gov.uk to enable us to gauge interest.  Please state the schools full address and your contact details.

Criteria

- Local authority school / council land

- close to residential properties - particular those without driveways e.g. flats or terraces

- have accessible parking spaces that could be made available to the public

- ideally should be  a safe, well lit, CCTV covered area
