OBON Day 2021 - A Day of Pride and Unity Celebrations

To be completed by: Fri 25 Jun 2021

Time: -Fri 25 Jun 2021 | Venue:

The last 12 months has been a very difficult period, with the country facing unprecedented and challenging times which have had a huge impact on the wellbeing of our children.

It is for this reason we are dedicating our OBON DAY 2021 campaign to lifting the spirits of our children as part of a 10- year programme titled “Inspiring A Generation”.

Our intention is to urge every school in the country, to participate in a simple yet very meaningful and powerful gesture to champion the message of Pride and Unity being cascaded by our children in order to create a feel good factor that is so desperately needed in the country.

We need the support of your school to celebrate the day in the spirit it is intended and as outlined in the attached brochure but to do the following as a MUST please:

At 10am on Friday 25th June 2021.

  • Encourage every child in your school to clap for a minute to recognise, embrace and pay tribute to all those people who helped during the Covid 19 pandemic crisis.
  • Sing the OBON DAY 2021 anthem written by school children of St John’s Primary School (BDAT) in Bradford titled “We are Britain and we have one dream to unite all people in one Great Team”. https://youtu.be/-KAWylrnlvA

At a national level we will be mobilising the support of our national media, our politicians, celebrities and all sections of our society to join in this gesture which is being instigated by our school children. On this day you will hear the song being played in supermarkets and public buildings in order to make our children feel like champions.

We need the support of your leadership to help us cascade and raise the profile of this campaign so that no one school or child is left out. Will you please share this message with your school staff, parents and local contacts.

We ask that you please let us know of your intention to participate with a message of support and share any  photos and videos of your preparations and the celebrations of the day with us on our twitter feed @1Britain1Nation using the hashtag #OBONDAY2021.

We thank you in anticipation that you will be participating and supporting our campaign and if you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us on the following email: info@onebritainonenation.com
