Silly Squad Summer Reading Challenge 2020 - How Children Can Participate

To be completed by: Wed 30 Sep 2020

Time: -Wed 30 Sep 2020 | Venue:

The Summer Reading Challenge is very different this year. I have attached a Letter for parents and children, which (if you can) I'd like all schools to share via their webpages, newsletters etc, with parents. It gives the options for enjoying the Summer Reading Challenge and how it will work.

Nationally, the Silly Squad Summer Reading Challenge is a digital platform and can be accessed via www.sillysquad.org.uk It has lots of reading activities, challenges and of course book suggestions and recommendations. However, in addition to this, in Bradford we also decided to have a paper-based offer as we realized children may not have online access or simply, at this stage, be worn out with online learning. As our libraries re-open for Order and Collect, children collecting books can also collect a Silly Squad Summer Reading Challenge book bag and pack. If the child gives their school name, they will also receive a Summer Reading Challenge certificate sometime during October via their school. Bradford Libraries want to recognised and celebrate all those children who have in anyway tried to keep reading and we are not counting the numbr of books read. I have attached a letter for parents and children which explains the offers and hope you will include this information on your web pages, newsletters and social media.
