To be completed by: Fri 21 Feb 2020

Time: -Fri 21 Feb 2020 | Venue:

We have 8 places remaining for Friday 6th March 2020.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Childhood should be the happiest time in a person's life yet for many children who develop social, emotional and mental health disturbance the reality is very different. The course will provide a basic theoretical framework to help practitioners consider some of the influencing factors that have a devastating impact on the physical and mental health on children and how this affects future prospects. We will begin to explore the impact of Adverse Childhood Experience along with significant trauma and loss and how these experiences impact on daily living for our most vulnerable children. By recognising the signs and symptoms, practitioners will then begin to re-examine approaches that may address this inequality.

During the morning delegates will be provided with practical ideas and strategies, adaptable for use in any school setting. The course is suitable for practitioners working in Primary, Special, PRU or Secondary setting.
