Bradford Virtual School for Children Looked After would like to invite you to our first Attachment Aware Schools Network meeting. I know a lot of you have already expressed an interest in becoming an attachment aware and trauma informed school and want to join our network.

We want to develop a networks of schools who can share good practice and support a move forward in becoming an Attachment Aware authority. This will ensure that we are all involved in meeting the needs of our most vulnerable pupils in the most effective way possible and enable them to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Come and join our revolution!!

The first meeting will include a key note speech about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) from Dr Kate Ward and a discussion on how we can use this information to inform our practice in schools. Some schools are already doing this and we would love to hear from you if you are.

We will also have opportunities for discussion and share good practise around being attachment aware and trauma informed. In future meetings we will share case studies and would invite you to share case studies from your schools.

At the end of meeting there will be an opportunity to stay and see the film ‘Resilience’ which is about the original ACE’s study carried out in America for anyone who has not had an opportunity to see it.

Date: 27th November 2019

Time: 1.00 until 3.30 (3.30 until 4.30 for the Resilience screening)

Venue: Carlisle Business Centre
