Due to a change of date, we now have a few spaces remaining on our free Letters and Sounds phonics and early reading session on Thursday 10th October 1 - 3.30pm at Burley and Woodhead CE Primary School.

This free half day training session is designed for anyone wanting to consider how to link phonics and early reading in school.  The session will focus on using Letters and Sounds as the Systematic Synthetic Phonics programme in school and linking Letters and Sounds phonics lessons with early reading.

Outline of the session
 How to ensure decodable books match a child’s phonetic knowledge,
 Looking at how your school reading scheme is organised,
 What happens once pupils are confident reading phonetically decodable books,
 Sharing good practice with other Letters and Sounds teachers

The session will be delivered by Charlotte Murray, English Hub Literacy Specialist and English Subject Lead at Burley Woodhead. Charlotte is an experienced Y1 and 2 teacher and delivers ITT phonics training for a number of different providers.
