The DfE states: ‘The purpose of the MTC is to determine whether Year 4 pupils can fluently recall their multiplication tables.’ This half-day course is a an opportunity to consider what schools can do to feel ready for this new assessment

This will be led by Mark Hattersley - NCETM PD Lead, who carried out the sample test at St Mary's & St Peter's Catholic Primary School in June 2019 so has first hand experience of the test.

 

Audience -  Subject leaders, Year 3 and 4 teachers, HLTAs, NQTs

Outline - Now that the Multiplication Tables Check is statutory, many schools are considering how to ensure that their Year 4 pupils will be ready for the assessment by June 2020. The DfE states: ‘The purpose of the MTC is to determine whether Year 4 pupils can fluently recall their multiplication tables.’ This half-day course is a an opportunity to consider what schools can do to feel ready for this new assessment
