Gladys started her career as a nursery nurse before training as a children’s social worker. She has worked in all aspects of children’s services both as a front line practitioner and as a chief officer in a number of local authorities. She has been a statutory
Director of Children’s Services (DCS) specializing in recent years in leading and transforming services.
She has earned national and international accolades for her work on Child Sexual Exploitation and Early Years, receiving an OBE in 2012 for her services to children.
