"My dream?" Refugee Week Art Exhibition, 18-23 June '18: call for exhibits

We need exhibits, from schools in the Bradford district, for the Refugee Week Art Exhibition, next June.

Work from Early Years upwards will be very welcome.

As in previous years, this will be an all-age, mixed media exhibition, with individual and collaborative work from schools, art students, established artists and groups of all kinds.  There is a big space to fill, so we will be delighted to receive 3D work.  We are also happy to accept mounted written work, eg poems and short reflections. There is no selection process: all work submitted will be displayed.

This year the theme for the Exhibition is My dream?. The theme can be interpreted in any way you wish. It could be one person’s dream of a better life or wider hopes for a better world, in which people do not have to flee from home and claim sanctuary in another country.

The venue is a pop-up gallery, in Capital of Cycling, Hall Ings, right in the centre of the city.

More information about the exhibition and some photographs of exhibits from 2017, including independent work by Year 10 students, from St Bede's & St Joseph's Catholic College, can be found at https://bradford.cityofsanctuary.org/refugee-week-art-exhibition-2016.  You can download the Exhibit Registration Form from the web-page.

If you are interested in submitting work and would like to talk it through, please get in touch with Mary Blacka, Bradford City of Sanctuary, on schools@bradford.cityofsanctuary.org or 07415 307389.
