Key Stage 1 Film Literacy Opportunity - First training session 20 Oct 17

Many Key Stage 1 teachers have asked The Curriculum Innovation team about the use of film to raise attainment and engagement specifically in Key Stage 1.

Although the techniques from our Key Stage 2 project can be transferred to younger children, we wanted to run a separate project for teachers of children in Year 1 and Year 2.This provision will help teachers develop the skills of decoding, inference, grammar and text structure through the accessible medium of short film.

There will be 3 training days delivered by Tim Bleazard and Phillip Webb (independent Literacy consultant). Philip will focus on how to improve reading and writing by developing the ability to analyse film and Tim will focus on film making and the Pupil Film Leader Training.

The Bradford Film Literacy Key Stage 1 programme will be delivered at the Innovation Centre on the following dates:

Training Session 1                 20/10/2017 09:15 - 15:30
