Special offer on literacy support for Bradford primaries thanks to funding

Thanks to funding from The Brelms Trust, local literacy charity Reading Matters is able to offer primary schools within the Bradford area a fantastic literacy support package worth £1400 for just £650.

The offer, which saves a school £750 in total, is for a Reading Leaders course for 20 pupils, a box of fun and engaging reading resources worth £400 and a place at the forthcoming 'Closing the Literacy Gap' conference. It's a brilliant opportunity to invest in improving literacy provision at your school for a fraction of the usual cost.

The Reading Leaders scheme, which trains older pupils to be peer mentors and support younger pupils with reading, brings benefits for the children on both sides of the partnership, improving their literacy and communication skills, confidence and self-esteem.

Reading Leaders training takes place at school over the course of a normal day.  A professional trainer from Reading Matters would usually train a cohort of year 4 or 5 pupils with a free place for the member of staff acting as the school co-ordinator.

Training needs to take place this term, so don't delay!   Contact Reading Matters on 01274 692219 or info@readingmatters.org.uk to find out more.

“Reading Matters is an independent charity which is not run by Bradford Council.  However  BSO is being used to let our district’s schools know of the reduced offer available to them.”
