HENRY (Health, Exercise, Nutrition for the Really Young) is a national charity with the aim of preventing childhood obesity. We work with families of children aged 0-5 years delivering evidence-based group programmes for parents providing healthy lifestyle
information, reflection on parenting styles and how this affects feeding behaviour and information around healthy choices/portion sizes and provide free training to support practitioners to confidently raise the issue.
Practitioner Training:
Core Training
This two day training is aimed at health and early years practitioners or anyone who works directly with families of children aged 0-5 years. The training will enable practitioners to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence in tackling weight issues.
We consider not just what information that parents might need in order to develop healthy lifestyles, but how we might be able to approach these topics with parents in a sensitive and effective manner. Our training is evidence-based and RSPH approved.
When: 9th – 10th May 2017 – please attend both days – to book on, contact
nicola.charnock@henry.org.uk
For more information, or to request a booking form, please contact:

Group Facilitation Training (available to those who have attended Core)
This two day training enables practitioners to deliver the 8 week HENRY group programme to parents and we ask that you are able to commit to delivering at least one programme per year. With this in mind, we now
ask practitioners to obtain line managers consent to make this commitment before attending the training. In this training, trainees have the opportunity to further their knowledge and practise skills needed to run a group in a nurturing environment.
You will need to have attended the Core Training before coming on to this training.
When: 23rd – 24th May 2017 – please attend both days – to book on, please contact:
