Get involved with the #OurDay event

Teachers and staff at maintained schools across the Bradford district are being invited to raise awareness of the important work they do by using the #OurDay hashtag on Twitter on Tuesday, 15 November.

#OurDay is a nationwide 24-hour celebration on Twitter of the valuable work done every day by people in councils and other public services.

This is an opportunity to join thousands of others who will be showing the lengths we go to make a difference and improve quality of life for local people. We want to promote both the ordinary and the extraordinary, to tell the story of the Council.

?This year we would also like to highlight some of the work that takes place with our local schools, and to show how People Can, and do, make a difference.

There is a lots of scope for creativity on social media. Feel free to express your passion for your work. You could do a simple tweet, or share a photo or short video during the 'tweetathon'.  If posting photographs of activites in your school please ensure you have parental consent of any pupils involved.

You can either use your own Twitter account on 15 November, or send something to be tweeted from our @bradfordmdc Twitter account.?

If you use your own Twitter account please remember to use the #OurDay hashtag. Please also mention @bradfordmdc in your tweet, or tag us in your photo so we can easily find and share your tweet.

You can tweet at any time on Tuesday 15 November 2016. If you want to discuss how to get involved, please send your ideas of how you could take part to james.lee@bradford.gov.uk .
