We have planned an afternoon of action on Monday 18th April to raise awareness across the region of the non invasive prenatal test (NIPT) and the possibility it may lead to a further reduction of society’s awareness, understanding, and inclusion
of our children.
The meeting will take place in Bradford City Square, gathering from 4pm for a 4.30 to 5.30pm peaceful demonstration. The video we made in 2015 for World Down Syndrome day will be screened on loop on the big screen and we have invited Calendar and Look North.
We have also arranged for a banner to be made stating “we all belong, please don’t screen us out”.
All we need now are some families, support staff, teachers - in fact anyone who has a positive interest in the future of people with Down syndrome, to come along and join us.
School children could possibly come straight from school – in uniform; bring a picnic. The Square is in easy walking distance of Bradford Interchange and Bradford Foster Square rail station.
It is a lot easier for us to do this than to travel to London. We hope to make an impact to reinforce the demonstration taking place outside Parliament earlier on the same day.
Please spread the word and reply to this post if you are able to join us. Many thanks
