1940's Dinner Dance at Bradford City Hall in aid of the Lord Mayor's Appeal

Bradford City Hall will be swinging to sounds from the big band era during a 1940’s Dinner Dance event being held in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal on Friday 15 April.

The Banqueting Suite within City Hall will be the superb setting for a night of 1940’s inspired dining, dance and musical pleasure. Guests will be able to revel in this vintage era with a delicious 3 course meal, live entertainment from a 16 piece live swing band (the Syd Allen Band), and the chance to dance the night away to classics from the time.

The dance group “Two Shilling Jive” whose name originated from the 2 shilling club in Bradford in the 1940's, will be performing a dance demonstration of the 1940's Jive, Swing and Lindy Hop. And for those not overly familiar with the steps involved, they will also provide basic dance instruction on the 1940s Stroll to help get people into the swing of things.

The event will also feature a mini tour of City Hall, photo opportunities with vehicles from the era, and a charity prize auction, with all auction proceeds going to the Lord Mayors Appeal.
