National Adoption Week

This year National Adoption Week (19 – 23 October) is focusing on the theme, Too Old at 4? This theme hopes to raise awareness of the number of children who are aged over 4 years old who are waiting for adoption in the UK.

In Yorkshire and the Humber there are currently over 100 children waiting to be adopted. Most of these children are currently with temporary foster carers and are waiting to find a forever home.

Regardless of which area a child is currently living, a child will be placed in a home that is right for them and their adoptive family.

Bradford Council currently has its lowest number of children available but this changes on a weekly basis and still need prospective adopters to come forward. They are inviting the public to visit their adoption team on Thursday 22 October, 11am – 2pm,  Hale Café, Canalside Medical Centre, Bingley.
