Annual Family Learning Festival 2015

To coincide with 2015 being the International Year of Light, the theme for the Festival this year is Colour and Light. A whole host of engaging and fun Family Learning activities are planned across the District during the October half term.

On Saturday 24 and Saturday 31 October there will be a whole host of activities in City Park, in City Library, Impressions Gallery, Forsters Bistro and the National Media Museum from 11am -4pm.  Families will be able to make a real day of it.  Activities include taking part in a noise orchestra, creating giant sun catchers, making bubbles and rainbows, facepainting  and a dress up photo-booth.

All the Festival activities provide great opportunities for the children in your school and their families to spend time together, share new learning experiences and improve their skills.  All the activities are free!

During the next 2 weeks, these leaflets will be sent into all primary schools.  Please could schools distribute a leaflet to every child.

We would be extremely grateful if you are also able to further support this exciting opportunity for families.  You can do this in 3 ways:

  • Talk about the Festival in a school assembly
  • Add this banner to your website
  • Send out a text message to parents to remind them of events.

An example text would be:  Reminder all parents.  Family Learning Festival in City Park on Saturdays during half term.  Lots of fun activities for children and adults in City Library, the Media Museum, Impressions and Forsters.  11am-4pm.  Make giant bubbles, create a sun catcher, dress up photo-booth, noise orchestra and facepainting.  All free.
