Javed Bashir awarded Honorary Fellowship

Javed Bashir, a member of the Diversity and Cohesion team, has been awarded honorary fellowship at the University of Bradford.

The award of Honorary Fellow is the highest accolade the University can bestow.

It is given to individuals distinguished by their outstanding contribution in their fields, the University or the city of Bradford.

Javed Bashir is founder and CEO of the Professional Muslim Institute (PMI), set up at the University of Bradford in 2009.  Javed has developed and advanced the application of knowledge around community leadership.  He has collaborated with some of the UK’s most influential Muslim leaders and has made a sustained contribution to the socio-economic development of the city and region. Javed won the Community Harmony Award in 2003 for significant contribution to racial harmony after the riots and for his charitable work.
