More and more Bradford schools are appointing staff specifically to lead on outdoor experiences in the school grounds.
The Outdoor Leaders Network is an attempt to bring together staff whose role involves promoting or delivering Outdoor Learning experiences to the young people in their school, using school grounds and nearby open spaces. Whether it is regularly timetabled
sessions throughout the school, or perhaps a focus on a particular year group, this is an opportunity to meet with colleagues from across the district, share ideas and begin to develop a body of knowledge and best practice.
After the inaugural meeting, the intention is to arrange a series of sessions over the next year where we would meet at each others' schools, and get a picture of how provision is developing across the district.
We intend to look at how this provision can be integrated within the school curriculum, and how the impact on attainment etc can be measured.
