As part of the celebrations we have a schools' event with local historian Kathryn Hughes who will be giving the children a "lesson" in life and school for children during WW1. In addition to
this the children will have a chance to have a go at our WW1 Commemoration Reading Rug, which to date 500 children have contributed towards making. For the event we have places for 30 children - 10 children from 3 different schools. It is suitable for Year
3 and above.

Children waiting to have their turn will have WW1 worksheets to do and a chance to look at some of the WW1 displays and artefacts in the local history library.
Places can be booked via email and it will be first come first served. If you have secured a place you will be sent a letter of confirmation via email. Applications by Monday 1 December 2014.
