The Curriculum Innovation service is a national leader in utilising short film to raise attainment & engagement in KS2 reading & writing. They are looking for two additional partner schools in the Bradford area for a 3 year national Film Literacy project.

The Curriculum Innovation Service have worked very closely with the British Film Institute, Into Film, Bradford City of Film and IVE to run successful projects over the last 7 years.

We are now working with Into Film again as a delivery partner for schools in the Bradford area in the biggest (3 year project) national Film Literacy project of its kind involving 3 hubs in Bradford, Bristol and Belfast.

We are looking for two more schools to complete the cohort that starts full training in September. Details of the ‘Partner schools’ programme can be viewed here including the impact of the Film Literacy approach on attainment in writing and reading.

If you wish to take part please email Paul.scott@theinnovationcentres.com verifying that you have read and understand the PDF outlining the project and are willing to commit your school to the 3 years project (approximately £16K of free CPD)

By emailing Paul you are also agreeing to attend the following sessions prior to the CPD rollout in September.

Introduction / overview to the project 16:00 – 17:00 14th February 2019 at the Innovation Centre Bradford

A member of your SLT is required to attend this 1 hour session (you can bring relevant staff with you should you wish) where we go through the project in more detail with a member of the Into Film team.

This is an important meeting to ensure each school involved in the project is fully aware of the expected outcomes of the project and each school’s commitments to the success of the project. We have done this in our previous projects enabling schools the opportunity to ask further questions about the project before fully committing their school.

CPD day 1 09:30 – 15:30 (includes lunch) 7th March 2019 at the Innovation Centre Bradford

This session will provide further details for each school around the role of SLT and teachers in the project as well as an afternoon introductory CPD session to resources available to schools prior to the core CPD being delivered later in the year. A member of SLT and the two teachers from each school involved in the project are required to attend.
