Perspective Lite now allows users to view weekly attendance data for their school. Building on the breadth and depth of the analysis already available within the platform, this feature will further support successful interpretation and intervention. Using
the data provided by your school to the DfE, this functionality provides a high-level overview of the following key headline indicators for Absence and Attendance:
- Overall Absence
- Overall Attendance
- Authorised Absence
- Unauthorised Absence
- Persistent Absence
- Severe Persistent Absence
Each indicator is displayed alongside other comparators allowing you to see how your setting compares to others across the district, alongside regional and national performance. Data can be compared to that of the previous week, and (from 2026/27) that of
the same point in the previous year. The data is available immediately to view in Analysis after we upload it each week.
Not only does this upgrade provide timely intelligence on absence and attendance but you can view the specific data from a variety of pupil cohorts across each NCY, based on the contextual data we already uploaded to the platform. These include:
- Special Educational Needs (EHCP, SEN Support)
- Pupil Premium
- FSM
- Ethnicity (Main & Sub-category)
Data for all indicators (including DfE aligned absence bandings) can also be viewed and exported at pupil-level, providing users with specific intelligence on, and tailored insight, for individual CYP.
