Positive Masculinities – A KS3 Intervention Programme from The Story Project
Positive Masculinities is a 13-week intervention designed for boys in KS3, delivered through weekly one-hour sessions with small groups of 10–12 students.
Using extracts from fiction, non-fiction, and multimodal texts, the programme creates a safe, structured space for students to explore how gender expectations and traditional ideas of masculinity can influence identity, behaviour, and wellbeing. Students
are supported to question stereotypes and develop more positive, flexible understandings of masculinity.
